The article presents the research results on the social capital role in the conversion mechanism of the fi nancial capital of parents in children human capital. A study conducted according to a poll in Mogilev in 2009, shows that high levels of social capital inside the family contribute to the mobilization of fi nancial capital of parents: parents in the more affl uent families are more willing to go to considerable expense to their children for higher education.
