Competition policy in Russia: past, present and future

The paper analyzes history and main tendencies in Russian competition policy. Various understandings of such concepts as competition and competition policy are dealt with. Stages in government industry regulation are investigated, starting from strictly defined antitrust law per ser to more flexible forms of competition policy on the format of rule of reason. Russian antitrust legislation and Russian competition practice are shown. Relationship between competition policy and innovation activity of Russian companies are demonstrated. Efficiency of Russian competition policy is estimated.
