The article refl ects the correlation between the cultural values, the social capital and socialeconomic development. The article analyzes the social capital problem, its components and indicators. A new theoretical and methodological approach to the grouping of cultural values of Schwartz’s questionnaire, based on the factor analysis and understanding of individual value priorities in Russian culture is disclosed. This article provides the relationship assessment of specifi c cultural values and other cultural factors (time perspective and the religiosity level) to social-economic attitudes of Russians.

Institutional modernization is the condition of sustainable economic growth in Russia

The article examines the constructing and researching experience models of the economic growth, taking into account the institutions (horizontal networking, as well as informal labor institutions) and explaining the dynamics of Russia’s economy in the post-soviet period. The considered models show that the institutions, especially in the Russian economy, do not contribute to the economic growth sustainability. Observed growth (after the 1998 crisis) can quickly slow down or even stop. The transition condition to sustainable economic growth is the economic institutional modernization.
