The paper is devoted to the original periodization theory of innovation. In the first phase (1910-first half of the 40s) to the forefront issues of understanding the nature of innovation and their role in the society development over time (long, medium and short periods), the relationship of innovation and long cycles conditions. The second stage in the development of innovation theory (second half 1940-first half of the 1970s) is characterized by the increased role of macroeconomic analysis. The third stage of theory development began in the mid-1970s and is continuing to the present. It is characterized by an offensive approach, alternative macroeconomic theories of evolutionary theory, institutionalism (the theory of the firm), management (innovation management), comparative studies.

An empirical analysis of the determinants and relationship between grand and petty corruption: the role of institutions

The article provides the analysis of the determinants and relationship between grand and petty corruption implementing institutional approach. The weakness of such institutions as property rights leads to high level of grand corruption, which in turn results in the inefficient provision of public goods (inadequate financing of healthcare, education and social security programs, etc.). As a result, petty corruption rises in the corresponding sectors. This hypothesis gains empirical evidence on cross-national data; to assess the level of petty corruption a unique data set is used provided by the Transparency International project Global Corruption Barometer.
